The pear or Pyrus communis is one of the several tree species of genus
Pyrus. Apple (Malus domestica), is also a member of same family i.e., Rosaceae.
The pear is very similar to the apple in cultivation, propagation and pollination. The pear and the
apple are also related to the quince.

Pears are
original from Europe and Asia. The first
cultivated races were selected from the wild varieties in the prehistoric ages.
Currently China is the
biggest grower of Pears worldwide followed by Italy and US.

Fruit Pear
The Pear
fruit is of bell shape with wide base. The color of Pear ranges from green,
yellow, pink and red. It’s Texture is soft and gentle and has very nice
fragrance. Pears tree are of medium
sized upto 17 meters tall. The leaves generally are of broad oval shape.
